Arranmore Island has a long tradition of involvement in sport, including sailing, Gaelic and soccer. Arranmore United FC are the island's local soccer team and proprietor of Early's Bar, Jerry Early, has had a longstanding involvement with the club. The club's home ground is Ranagh Park which is situated on the south side of the island and sees weekly action when the team plays in the Donegal League.
